Storm Damage & Insurance Claims
North Georgia storms bring wind and hail that damage roofs in ways that are difficult to see from the ground and easy to miss from a driveway. Hail bruising can compromise a shingle's ability to shed water long before anything looks wrong from below. If a storm has passed over your home, the question worth answering is whether there is claim-worthy damage, not whether the ceiling is leaking yet.

What hail actually does to a roof
Hail bruises the mat beneath the shingle surface and knocks away the granules that protect it from ultraviolet exposure. The shingle may look intact while its service life has been cut substantially. This is why an untrained visual check from the ground is not a reliable answer, and why carriers send an adjuster onto the roof.
Wind damage and what it leaves behind
Wind lifts and creases shingles without necessarily removing them. A creased shingle has broken its seal and will let water past in the next driving rain. Missing shingles are obvious; creased ones are the damage that gets missed.
Wondering what this costs? We publish our installed rates: $430 to $575 per roofing square, tear-off included, along with what moves a roof up or down inside that range.
How the claim process works
- 1
Free inspection
We inspect the roof, and also the soft metals that show hail most clearly: gutters, downspouts, vents, and flashing. There is no charge and no obligation to file anything.
- 2
Photo documentation
Every area of damage is photographed and located on the roof, producing a documented record you can hand to your carrier. If we find nothing claim-worthy, we tell you that, and you have an inspection report either way.
- 3
You contact your insurer
You file the claim with your carrier. We do not file on your behalf, and we do not negotiate your claim for you. That is your relationship with your insurance company.
- 4
Adjuster coordination
We meet your adjuster at the property and walk the roof with them, so the documented damage is reviewed in person rather than debated over email.
- 5
Scope review
When the carrier's scope comes back, we go through it with you line by line and identify anything omitted that the damage supports.
- 6
Installation and final paperwork
We install the approved scope, complete the final walkthrough, and provide the documentation your carrier needs to release final payment.
Before you sign anything
Three things we will always tell you plainly. Contact your insurance carrier before committing to any storm repair work. An inspection and a documented estimate cost you nothing and put you in a better position with your insurer. Never sign over your claim or your claim cheque to a contractor: an assignment of benefits hands your contractor the right to deal with your insurer directly, and you lose control of your own claim. And we will never offer to waive, absorb, or 'cover' your deductible. Georgia's Attorney General and the Georgia Consumer Protection Division warn homeowners about contractors who offer to do so, and about anyone demanding full payment upfront. A deductible is your obligation under your policy, and any contractor offering to make it disappear is telling you something about how they operate.

“Professional, attentive, installed the new roof and cleaned up like they had not even been there. On site manager explained what they were doing every step of the way. The job was done quickly and efficiently.”
“The team was friendly, professional, and took the time to answer all my questions. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job on schedule.”
Storm work, start to finish
A full tear-off and replacement, photographed on site.

Mid tear-off, down to the deck so it can be inspected. Pool, patio and beds tarped before a single shingle came off.
Rotten decking does not show itself until the roof is open. Here it came off to the rafters and went back as new sheathing.
Mid tear-off. Decking exposed and inspected before anything new went down.
The same roof finished, and the yard cleared.
Financing
Pay over time, not all at once.
Most people do not plan for a roof. We have partnered with Wisetack so the decision is about what your home needs, not about what is in your account this month.

Up to $65,000
Wisetack finances projects up to $65,000, which covers a complete replacement on essentially any home in our service area.

For example, a $5,500 purchase could cost $253.54 per month for 24 months, based on a 9.9% APR, or $1,833.33 per month for 3 months, based on a 0% APR. Offers range from 0 to 35.9% APR based on amount requested and creditworthiness. Not all merchants and lending partners participate in 0% interest programs. Terms range from 3 - 120 months and may vary based on merchant, lending partner, or transaction size. State interest rate caps may apply. No prepaid finance charges or participation fees. Storm Damage & Insurance Claims, common questions
Will you waive or cover my deductible?
No, and you should be wary of any contractor who offers to. Your deductible is your obligation under your policy. Georgia's Attorney General and the Georgia Consumer Protection Division warn homeowners specifically about contractors who offer to absorb deductibles or who demand full payment upfront.
Should I call you or my insurance company first?
Call your insurer before committing to any repair work. A free inspection and a documented damage report from us cost you nothing and put you in a stronger position with your carrier, but the claim is your relationship with your insurance company. We do not file on your behalf and we do not negotiate your claim for you.
My roof looks fine from the ground. Could it still have hail damage?
Yes. Hail bruises the mat beneath the shingle surface and knocks away the granules that protect it from ultraviolet exposure. A shingle can look intact while its service life has been cut substantially. That is why carriers send an adjuster onto the roof rather than assessing from the driveway.
What does your inspection actually check?
The roof surface, and also the soft metals that show hail most clearly: gutters, downspouts, vents and flashing. Everything we find is photographed and located on the roof, producing a documented record you can hand to your carrier. If we find nothing claim-worthy, we tell you that, and you keep the report either way.
What if the adjuster's scope misses damage?
We go through the carrier's scope with you line by line and identify anything omitted that the documented damage supports. We also meet your adjuster at the property and walk the roof with them, so the damage is reviewed in person rather than debated over email.
