Virtue Roofing is a locally owned and operated roofing company serving Gainesville and the surrounding North Georgia communities, with more than 35 years of combined roofing experience on our team.
Why We Do This
Roofing is a trust business.
Most homeowners buy a roof once, maybe twice, in their life. You can't easily check the work. The parts that matter most are underneath the shingles, and by the time a shortcut shows up as a leak, the truck that took the shortcut is long gone. That imbalance is exactly why the roofing industry has the reputation it has.
Virtue Roofing was built to be the other kind of roofing company. Our mission is simple: honest guidance, exceptional craftsmanship, and dependable roofing solutions, delivered with the kind of transparency that turns a one-time customer into a neighbor who refers you for the next decade.
That's not a slogan on a truck door. It shows up as clear recommendations before you sign, a written proposal that names exactly what we're installing, and a final walkthrough where we show you the finished work before we call the job done.
Local, By Design
North Georgia is our only market.
We're based in Gainesville and we work where we live: Hall County and the surrounding communities: Flowery Branch, Buford, Oakwood, Cumming, and the towns in between. Our team brings 35+ years of combined roofing experience, all of it on North Georgia homes.
That matters more than it sounds. Georgia heat, humidity, and pop-up summer storms have a specific set of failure modes: algae streaking, cooked underlayment, attic-moisture rot, wind-lifted shingles. We spec roofs for this climate because it's the only climate we work in.
We carry commercial general liability through Markel Insurance Company at $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, and we will send you the certificate rather than ask you to take our word for it.

A 30-point inspection, free
We go over the roof, the flashing details, the penetrations and the attic, and you get the findings whether or not they add up to work. If nothing is wrong, we tell you nothing is wrong.
An itemized written proposal
Naming the actual components, shingle line, starter, hip and ridge cap, underlayment, where the self-adhering membrane goes. Set it beside another quote and you can see precisely where they differ.
Warranties registered in your name
The CertainTeed material warranty is registered on your behalf so it sits with the manufacturer, independent of us. Our workmanship warranty is separate, and both are named before work starts.
A final walkthrough
We are not finished when the last shingle goes on. We are finished when you have walked the property with us and every nail is off the lawn.

About Virtue Roofing: common questions
Are you local, or a national company with a local phone number?
Locally owned and operated, based in Gainesville. North Georgia is the only market we work in: Hall, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Barrow, Dawson and DeKalb counties. There is no head office in another state making decisions about your roof.
Do you use your own crews or subcontractors?
Our crews carry our workmanship warranty, and that warranty is what we are accountable to regardless of who is holding the nail gun. Every job gets a final walkthrough with you before we call it done, and the same person who scoped the work is reachable afterwards.
What happens to my warranty if something goes wrong years from now?
Two separate protections, which is the point of splitting them. CertainTeed's limited lifetime warranty covers the shingles themselves, sits with the manufacturer, and we register it in your name so it does not depend on us. Our workmanship warranty covers the installation and runs 10, 25 or 50 years depending on the system you chose. Both are named in your written proposal before any work starts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes to both. We hold a Gwinnett County business license for roofing contractors, Occupation Tax Certificate #2026218958, valid through March 31, 2027. Georgia does not license roofing as a trade at the state level, so a county license is the license that applies, and any roofer claiming a Georgia state roofing license is claiming something that does not exist. For insurance, we carry commercial general liability through Markel Insurance Company at $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, and we will send you the certificate rather than asking you to take our word for it. Ask when you book the inspection and it comes with the written proposal.
Are you certified by the shingle manufacturers?
Yes, by both manufacturers we install. Virtue Roofing is a GAF Certified™ Contractor, GAF ID 1164190, which authorizes us to offer the GAF System Plus Limited Warranty on qualifying GAF roofing systems. We are also a CertainTeed ShingleMaster™ credentialed roofing company, which lets us offer the CertainTeed SureStart™ PLUS 3-STAR Coverage warranty extension. Both can be checked: GAF Contractor Services at 877-423-7663, option 2 then 1, and CertainTeed for the ShingleMaster credential, which is valid through January 31, 2027. It matters because the enhanced manufacturer warranties are only available through contractors the manufacturer has vetted, and a roofer without the credential cannot register one for you.
How do I know the quote covers what it says it covers?
Because it is itemized. Every proposal names the actual components going on your roof: the shingle line, the starter, the hip and ridge cap, the underlayment, where the self-adhering membrane goes. So you can set it beside anyone else's quote and see exactly where they differ. Most of what decides how long a roof lasts is underneath the shingles, which is precisely why it belongs in writing.
